I’ve been thinking about how much I miss teaching yoga, our little community, the banter… and getting you all moving and breathing on the mat! 💛

Life has changed quite a bit since I was teaching regularly back in 2019. I’ve moved, met my partner, had a little mini-me 👶🏼 and juggling life around shift work means a regular venue-based class just isn’t realistic for me right now.

BUT… I’ve been wondering whether there might be a way to bring Yogalees back. ✨

I’m thinking about launching a weekly online yoga class something you could join from the comfort of your own home, wherever you are.

For a long time, I thought if I was technically free, I should say yes.
What I’ve learnt is that being available doesn’t mean I have to be.
Sometimes saying no to someone else means saying YES to me.
And honestly, that has lifted a lot of weight from my shoulders.
This is a big part of what inspired me to create the Overgiver Reset.

Before you say yes to one more thing today, pause.
Take a breath.
And instead of immediately asking yourself:
“Should I?” “Will they be disappointed?” “Can I just squeeze it in?”
Ask yourself:
“Do I actually have the capacity for this?”
Then pause again.
Notice what comes up.
Maybe it’s guilt. Maybe it’s the urge to say yes anyway. Maybe you realise you’re already stretched. Maybe you genuinely do have the capacity.
There isn’t a right answer.
The point is to pause long enough to hear your own answer before automatically putting someone else’s needs first.
Because change doesn’t always begin with doing more.
Sometimes it begins with creating enough space to notice what you actually need.
And that’s the kind of work we’ll be doing inside my 7-Day Overgiver Reset.
Just 15 minutes a day, for 7 days.

Can we talk about overgiving?
Because I don’t think most overgivers wake up thinking:
“Today I’m going to completely abandon my own needs.”
It happens much more quietly.
You say yes when you want to say no.
You squeeze one more thing into the day.
You look after everyone else first.
You tell yourself you’ll rest later.
And eventually, “later” becomes…never.
The problem isn’t that you care too much.
It’s that you’ve become very good at putting yourself last.
That’s exactly why I created the Overgiver Reset.
Not to give you ANOTHER thing to add to your to-do list.
But to give you 15 minutes a day to come back to yourself.

People who overgive often become so attuned to everyone else that they lose connection with themselves.
When we spend so much time looking after everyone else, we often lose the ability to notice what’s happening inside ourselves.
Our shoulders creep up.
Our breathing becomes shallow.
Our minds race ahead to the next thing that needs fixing.
Sometimes the most powerful thing you can do isn’t another task on your to-do list.
It’s a pause.
This simple reset won’t solve everything.
But it can interrupt the cycle long enough for your nervous system to remember that you’re safe.
And from that place...
You can respond instead of react.
Imagine having a collection of gentle resets, each designed for a different moment:
🤍 When you feel overwhelmed.
🤍 When you’re emotionally drained.
🤍 When you’ve slipped into people-pleasing.
🤍 When you’ve forgotten to check in with yourself.
🤍 When life feels noisy and you need to come home to yourself.

There was a time when I genuinely believed that caring meant carrying other people’s burdens too.

I didn’t realise that every time I rushed in to rescue someone else, I was abandoning myself a little more.

The truth is, overgiving isn’t usually about having “poor boundaries.”

It’s often a pattern we’ve learned.

A way of creating safety.

A way of feeling needed.

A way of proving our worth.

And because it becomes so automatic, we rarely stop to ask ourselves:

“What is this costing me?”

Healing didn’t mean becoming less compassionate.

It meant learning to pause long enough to notice what my body needed before reacting to everyone else’s discomfort.

That pause changed everything.

Might be an unpopular opinion but rescuing others is often an unconscious coping mechanism to create safety and control. Most of us think we’re helping because we’re kind, caring or generous.

And sometimes we are.

But sometimes, rescuing becomes a way to avoid sitting with our own discomfort.

If everyone else is okay, we feel okay.

If we can fix the problem, we feel in control.

If we’re needed, we feel safe.

The trouble is, constantly carrying everyone else eventually leaves us feeling disconnected from ourselves, frustrated, emotionally exhausted and wondering why we have nothing left to give.

The answer isn’t to stop caring.

It’s to learn how to come back to yourself before you lose yourself.

To recognise the signs that you’re running on empty and have simple ways to reset your mind, body and nervous system before overwhelm takes over.

I’ve been creating something for those moments when you feel overwhelmed, disconnected or just pure exhaustion.

I’ll be sharing more very soon, and I have a feeling it’s exactly what so many of us need right now. 💛

There’s no magic pill for stress.
Medication can play an important role for many people, but lasting change often starts by understanding why your body is struggling in the first place.
Symptoms like fatigue, headaches, tension, poor sleep, or low mood aren’t always something to silence. Sometimes they’re your body’s way of saying, something needs to change.
Instead of asking, “How do I make this go away?” Try asking, “What is my body trying to tell me?”

Most people don’t need harder workouts. They need nervous system regulation.
Some days my practice feels strong, energising, and full of movement. ✨
Other days, it’s slower, softer, and centred on the breath.
Both are equally valuable.
For me, that’s what yoga is really about.
Not achieving the perfect pose. Not being the most flexible person in the room.
But learning to listen to my body, my breath, and what I need in this moment. 🤍
Every practice looks different, and that’s exactly as it should be.
Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is slow down, breathe, and give our nervous system the space it needs to reset.

Post my double class on Sunday morning, I saw so many posts about yoga and I thought, what’s the best way to honour yoga for this special day, but in a creative way. One of the biggest lessons yoga has taught me is that strength isn’t just physical.
It’s rolling out your mat when you don’t feel like it.
It’s moving with the energy you have available, rather than forcing yourself to do more.
It’s knowing the difference between challenging yourself and pushing yourself beyond your limits.
Some days your best looks different.
That’s not failure.
That’s self-awareness. ✨
